Who we are

Who we are

Who we are

As Protestant Christians we affirm that justification (being made right with God) is by faith alone in Jesus alone, and we broadly stand in the tradition of Reformed churches. However we hold that water baptism is for believing Christians only, and expect the ongoing gifts and power of the Holy Spirit in the everyday life of believers.

We hold to the orthodox Creeds of the Apostles’, Nicene-Constantinopolitan, Chalcedonian and Athanasian Creeds.

Our leaders

As we grow and move towards having elders at our church, we’re currently led by a dedicated team of Godly men and women. The team is headed by Christopher Appel, who, along with his wife Lorette and their children Joshua and Megan, made the move from the UK to Brussels in January 2025 to lead our church.

Christopher has been in full-time church ministry since 2010, serving in churches across South Africa, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. Before stepping into ministry, he served as a military pilot in the South African Air Force for 11 years.

Our network

Mosaic Church is part of New Ground, a network of churches that grew out of the Newfrontiers movement.

New Ground is a family of churches led by James Silley and the New Ground Core Team. They’re passionate about playing a role in God’s mission to plant churches around the world and see communities transformed by the love of Jesus.

Although New Ground is a newer movement, it is rooted in the rich, historic tradition of gospel-centered Evangelical Reformed churches, while also embracing the vibrant, spirit-filled aspects of charismatic contexts.
